Tulsi and Bernie on Israel-Palestine

Tulsi also co-sponsored H.Res.496 - Affirming that all Americans have the right to participate in boycotts in pursuit of civil and human rights at home and abroad, as protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution. https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-resolution/496/text This pertains to BDS as well. As far as Bernie vs Tulsi on Israel-Palestine goes : Tulsi and Bernie on Israel-Palestine, the only 2 candidates decent on it. Neither of them great though. Thread on similarities and how Tulsi is clearly better. Current positions. Common : 1. They are the only 2 candidates who are approaching decency on that. neither great. 2. Both have identical positions on BDS. I agree with boycott, divest of Israel, but not 1-state solution or even sanctions (so I agree on not supporting BDS). 3. Both have spoken out against Israeli annexation of Palestine. 4. Both spoke out against Israeli firing on innocent Palestinians. 5. Both have mentioned withholding/cutting aid to Israel if they continue Palestine annexation. (Tulsi : https://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1212534992611491840) Differences : 1. Tulsi is the only one to have spoken out against Israeli annexation of Golan heights (+ to Tulsi) https://twitter.com/TulsiGabbard/status/1108822872779300864 2. Tulsi is the only one among the 2 who spoke out about Netanyahu's role in inflaming tensions and provoking US war with Iran (+ to Tulsi) https://twitter.com/TulsiGabbard/status/1115604524641599490 3. Tulsi voted against Israeli annexation of Palestine in early 2017. To be specific, the resolution was against UN resolution condemning Israeli annexation. She voted no. Bernie also took a similar stand, but did not get to vote. https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-resolution/11/actions?KWICView=false Sanders applauded the administration of former President Barack Obama for its decision in December to abstain from vetoing United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334, which censured Israeli settlement construction." There was no vote in Senate ->https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/senate-resolution/6/actions?KWICView=false 4. 4. Tulsi mentions that it is upto Israel-Palestine to resolve the issue. US and other entities can and should only play a fair and supportive role. Bernie focusses more on the role US and other entities should play. + to Tulsi. 5. Bernie talks about Israeli govt being racist and unfair treatment of Palestines. + to Bernie. 6. Bernie signed this horrible letter in 2017 saying UN is often used as a vehicle for targetting Israel, has done actions reinforcing anti-Semitism (-ve for Bernie) https://twitter.com/Delo_Taylor/status/858481385748779009 7. Bernie voted yes on this resolution in 2017 which had : Reaffirms: (2) the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 as U.S. law, and calls upon the President and all U.S. officials to abide by its provisions. Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995: (2) Jerusalem be recognized as the capital of the State of Israel; and (3) the U.S. Embassy in Israel be established in Jerusalem no later than May 31, 1999. https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/senate-resolution/176 Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 -> ironically, Bernie had voted no back then. http://clerk.house.gov/evs/1995/roll734.xml He voted no back in 1995, voted yes on a resolution in 2017. He criticised Trump moving it to Jerusalem, would not commit moving Israeli embassy back to Tel Aviv. A clear -ve for Bernie. If someone can give a coherent explanation for Bernie's moves in this case, that person ..would be genius-like in my eyes. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-2020-democratic-field-is-more-anti-war-than-obama-was/ I tried, but I could not find Tulsi's position on Jerusalem, Tel Aviv embassy. But from all of the above, I think its clear while Tulsi is not great on Israel-Palestine, she is better than Bernie. She did repeat pro-Israeli stuff before 2016, but has consistently improved after that, seeing through their propaganda.
