1. About 9/11, Ilhan Omar said "Some people did something" :
"Some people did something" is how Ilhan Omar described the events of 9/11, while talking about discrimination faced by Muslims in the US post 9/11. There is no excuse whatsoever for this flippant, insensitive and dismissive way of characterizing a national tragedy. She should have called it what it was—a terrorist attack that killed around 3000 people. No Ilhan Omar, it was not some people doing something. That is minimizing it and hurting a lot of people. I've seen articles trying to justify this remark. This is utter and complete disingenuousness.
Yes, there was discrimination faced by many Muslims in US after 9/11, but that in no way justifies Ilhan Omar's remark.
Ilhan didn't even bother to apologize for her remarks.
No words of apology in either of these 2 interviews and I couldn't find any instance where she did actually apologize.

4. Unprecedented amount of money (900,000$) transferred to her husband's company E-Street for campaign work :
In forms filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on Monday, Omar reported that another $228,111 was paid to the E Street group, owned by Tim Mynett who she married in March after denying for months that the two were having an affair.
Omar’s second quarter spending was $686,271, meaning Mynett’s firm raked in a third of the total. Although it is not illegal for members of Congress to employ relatives on their campaign, the scale of Mynett’s compensation from the Omar campaign is unprecedented.
In a Complaint to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on August 28, 2019, NLPC alleged that Omar made personal use of campaign funds by reimbursing Mynett’s expenses while he traveled around the country with her.

5. Ilhan praises Hormuud Telcommunications, company in Somalia long known to be financing terrorist group Al Shabab:

Hormuud Telecommunications is a company identified as being one of the single largest financiers of Al-Shabaab, which includes large lump-sum payments to Al-Shabaab in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and these payments to Al-Shabaab were facilitated by Jim’ale.
Ali Ahmed Nur Jim’ale (Jim’ale) has served in leadership roles with the former Somali Council of Islamic Courts, also known as the Somali Islamic Courts Union, which was a radical-Islamist element. The most radical elements of the Somali Islamic Courts Union eventually formed the group known as Al-Shabaab.
In addition to providing funding, Hormuud Telecommunications has provided key material and logistical support to Al-Shabaab to include weapons, private fighters and ammunition. Spokespersons for moderate Somali groups have warned the Somali people not to use Hormuud Telecommunications Company, because Hormuud personnel listen in on conversations for Al-Shabaab. Additionally, Hormuud has cut off telephone service during Al-Shabaab attacks against pro-Somali Government forces.

This report came out several years ago, in 2012. One would expect Ilhan, a Representative and a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, to be aware of what is going on in her country of birth, Somalia. So why did she praise Hormud ? I am not aware of anyone asking her about this statement of hers.
6. Ilhan voted present on the Armenian genocide recongition resolution :

Her explaination was this :
"I also believe accountability for human rights violations — especially ethnic cleansing and genocide — is paramount. But accountability and recognition of genocide should not be used as cudgel in a political fight," Omar said.
"A true acknowledgment of historical crimes against humanity must include both the heinous genocides of the 20th century, along with earlier mass slaughters like the transatlantic slave trade and Native American genocide, which took the lives of hundreds of millions of indigenous people in this country," she added.
The explanation just doesn't cut it in any way. Falls away at the slightest scrutiny. ,Just vote yes for the Armenian genocide recongition resolution and introduce another legislation for the other crimes against humanity. Why do you have to vote present for this ? Ilhan got significant flak for the present vote on this resolution, including from progressives and rightfully so.
7. Voted no to sanctions on Turkey military and political leaders connected to invasion of Syria:
Ilhan voted no on this bill that specifically put sanctions on Turkey military, leaders, state instituitions if they were found backing invasion of Syria in late 2019 :

Her statement in an op-ed was this :
"Research has shown that sanctions rarely achieve their desired goals. In the worst-case scenario, they hurt the people of a country — generally the very people we’re purporting to help — without making a dent in the country’s behavior. And in the case of human rights abusers, research suggests that more abuses typically occur with economic sanctions in place than without them."
This is a legitimate criticism of general economic sanctions from US, which is a big chunk of US sanctions. But this legislation was not a general economic sanctions bill. This was a sanctions bill specifically targetted to those supporting Syria invasion - military, political leaders, state instituitions. So what she said doesn't apply here. These are not the kind of sanctions that have hurt common people in Venezuela, Iran, Syria etc. These sanctions were to deter Turkey high level interests from the invasion of Syria and did not involve common people.

I repeat : The sanctions with respect to Turkey were not targetting common people at all. This was a sanctions bill specifically targetted to those supporting Syria invasion - military, political leaders, state instituitions.
8. Ilhan Omar and Turkey :
As pointed out above, Ilhan :
a. voted present on the Armenian genocide resolution giving a weak explanation.
b.She gave a convincingly misleading explanation for voting against sanctions targetted to Turkey military&political institutions. Before coming under real fire for the above 2, not once had she spoken out or taken any legislative action against Erdogan for wrongdoing.
c. Ilhan did not condemn Turkey's invasion of Syria.
After taking fire for the 2 votes, she has done these :
a. Pushes Turkey on Kurdish Prisoners
b. Co-signed letter to senior State Department official Amb. James Jeffrey, demanding an investigation into Turkey’s alleged use of chemical weapons during its invasion of Syria.
c. Wrote a social media post commemorating the Armenian Genocide on April 24, the international Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. But she has not apologized for her preset vote on the genocide resolution.

11. Ilhan in order to further her agenda accuses a neutral journalist Aarti Tikoo Singh of being a mouthpiece of BJP:
Aarti Tikoo Singh is an Indian journalist, who also is a Kashmiri Pandit. The Kashmiri Pandits were ethnically cleansed from the Kashmir valley in the early 90s.
Aarti mentioned facts about Islamist terrorism being a big problem in Kashmir killing Kashmiri Muslims and Hindus. She and her family themselves were victims of this having been forced out of Kashmir valley due to Islamist terrorism sponsored/helped by Pakistan. She also mentioned facts about removal of Article 370 helping people - facts.
She has written articles both praising and criticizing the Bharitya Janata Party (BJP).
She was also the only one in the hearing to be on the ground reporting from Kashmir in that timeframe.For stating facts in the hearing that BJP has also mentioned, Ilhan accused Aarti Tikoo of being a mouthpiece of the government. Never mind that Aarti has criticized and continues to criticize BJP whenever she thinks BJP is doing something wrong. See the next point as well.

12. Not once condemning Pakistan govt/army sponsored terrorism or human rights abuses there :

Pakistan govt/army doesn't back terrorism in Kashmir ?
Osama bin Laden was found hiding in Pakistan close to the capital Islamabad. Current Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan himself has said that Pakistan army/govts in the past had backed terrorism.
“Until we came to power, the governments did not have the political will. When you talk about militant groups, they still have about 30,000-40,000 armed people who have been trained and fought in some part of Afghanistan or maybe Kashmir,” Khan said
That Pakistan govt/army sponsors terrorism in Kashmir and Afghanistan is a well known fact. Its why it is in the FATF grey list.
Minorities (Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, athiests etc.) are mistreated badly in Pakistan from killings to forced conversions to other atrocities. Blasphemy laws are really harsh.Those accused of blasphemy are treated harshly.
But Ilhan, the self-proclaimed champion of human rights, has nothing to say on these two fronts, while she happily spreads false propaganda about India and BJP. And has the gall to say "what you call militants".
13. Co-sponsored New Way Forward Act that would increase illegal immigration:
Ilhan Co-Sponsored this bill - New Way Forward Act - which decriminalizes border crossing (would which inevitably increase illegal migration) instead of just focussing on humane treatment of those illegally crossing (there were 2 legislations in early 2019 for this).
There are a couple of decent measures in the bill, but it would inevitably lead to more illegal immigration and overall its a significant negative.
14. Wrongly painting majority of Syria as wanting Assad out and not talking about US interference there :

Assad is a dictator. Some Syrian people did and do want him out, but not a majority. Majority see alternatives as worse or far worse.
In 2013 : NATO has been studying data that told of a sharp rise in support for Assad. The data, compiled by Western-sponsored activists and organizations,showed that a majority of Syrians were alarmed by the Al Qaida takeover of the Sunni revolt and preferred to return to Assad, Middle East Newsline reported.
The data, relayed to NATO over the last month, asserted that 70 percent of Syrians support the Assad regime. Another 20 percent were deemed neutral and the remaining 10 percent expressed support for the rebels.
I checked. Ilhan has not once opposed US regime change efforts in Syria through arming moderate rebels. She has not once talked about US arming Al Qaeda affiliates indirectly in Syria to topple Assad. She has not once opposed general economic sanctions on Syria, while she opposed them on Iran, Venezuela. Why not oppose them on Syria as well, Ilhan ? Double standards much ?

Hillary Clinton came out with a wild baseless accusation that Tulsi was a Russian agent. Tulsi hit back saying Hillary was the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption, and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party.

19. Ilhan voted no on a bill denying payout to beneficiaries if the insured’s death occurred directly or indirectly as a result of the insured’s furtherance of terrorism
Voting records show that as a state representative, Omar was one of two members to vote against H.F. 1397, a 2017 bill that sought to allow life insurance companies the ability to deny payouts to beneficiaries “if the insured’s death occurs directly or indirectly as a result of the insured’s furtherance of terrorism.”
The Minnesota bill passed the House in a 127-2 vote. Omar and fellow state Rep. John Lesch were the only members to vote against the bill. Lesch voiced concern that the wording of the bill might give insurance companies too much discretion over what constitutes terrorism.
“[The bill] allows an insurance company, not a court, to decide what constitutes an act of terrorism under the cited statute, and it lowers the burden on that call to preponderance of the evidence,” Lesch told Alpha News, a Minnesota-based news outlet.
He expressed that he was not opposed to the idea behind the bill: “Terrorists should not be able to send life insurance benefits to beneficiaries based on bad faith recent policy purchases. I think we can all agree on that.”
It’s unclear why Omar voted against the bill. Her office did not respond to a request for comment.

How could Ilhan commit such a mistake ?
Doubling in size has nothing to do with founding of CAIR. Her speech was based on the premise that "CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties"
So how could there not be a simple check from her or her staff ? She and her staff are not that utterly incompetent right ?
What's an another explanation ? Trying to gain more sympathy by saying CAIR founded because of increase in Islamaphobia after 9/11 in US (its true Islamophobia increased in US after 9/11, but to utter a falsehood like this about founding of CAIR ?). Just

I am just going to summarize here :
a. Chris Gaubatz's undercover operation on CAIR : This exposed immigration fraud by one of their attorneys, discussion of co-ordination with Bin Laden&associates; conspiracy to influence Congress, specifically judiciary, intelligence, and homeland security committees ; ordering books from the Saudi embassy on the virtue of jihad and martyrdom; working with a Muslim law enforcement officer to influence a major terrorism investigation by accessing a classified federal police database and tipping off the suspect.
b. Terrorism/money laundering convictions and CAIR's responses : Randall "Ismail" Royer, Ghassan Elashi, Abdurahman Alamoudi, Muthanna Al-Hanooti - Members of CAIR who have been convicted with respect to terrorism or money laundering charges.
Of course CAIR cannot be responsible for the independent actions of its officials or affiliated members. But it is to be noted that in the above mentioned cases, CAIR has either obfuscated or been silent on these or talked about about sentences being unfair precisely because they are Muslim or Arab.
Also in the interest of completeness, CAIR has correctly corrected the record on 2 other names frequently brought up : Baseem Khalfagi and Rabih Hadad, neither of whom were CAIR employees.
c. Nihad Awad, co-founder and and Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), announced his support for Hamas in 1994. There has been further obfuscation from Awad/CAIR on this which is covered in the CAIR article. This is even with Awad denouncing Hamas in 2006.
d. In 2009, a Federal Judge handed down sentences in Holy Land Foundation (HLF) case, in which CAIR was listed as unindicted co-conspirator. Five former leaders of a HLF were convicted of funneling more than $12 million to the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. A federal judge said government introduced extensive evidence tying CAIR to Hamas. FBI cut Ties With CAIR following this terror financing trial of HLF.
e. CAIR was designated as terrorist group by UAE in 2014 : UAE foreign minister when asked about it: "Our threshold is quite low when we talk about extremism. We cannot accept incitement or funding when we look at some of these organisations. For many countries, the definition of terror is that you have to carry a weapon and terrorise people. For us, it’s much beyond that; we cannot tolerate even the smallest, tiniest amount of terrorism"
