Summary:

Movie in the superhero genre. Respectful and wonderful references to Shri Ram, Sita mate, Shri Hanuman and entire Ramayana. Decent first half followed by a pretty good 2nd half ending with an absolute goosebumps climax. Must watch. 8.5 to 9 out of 10.

Details: (no spoilers)

Plus points:

1. Respectful and wonderful references to Shri Ram, Sita mate, Shri Hanuman and entire Ramayana.

2. That climax scene. Pure goosebumps - What a theatrical experience!!

3. Pretty good acting - especially by the 4 main actors - Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyar, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Vinay Rai.

4. The VFX and photography is excellent, brilliant for a low budget film actually. 

5. The comedy is very good (including the voiceover of the koti or monkey)

6. The BGM is pretty good.

7. Depiction of some village stuff is accurate.


Minus points:

1. Contains elements of just routine Telugu film masala - some silly, some boring stuff (more so in the 1st half)

2. Some logical fallacies and missing the point stuff.

3. Its not made very clear why the hero Hanumanthu (played by Teja Sajja) is chosen.


Other stuff:

1. A sequel Jai HanuMan was announced for 2025. Climax of part 1 obviously makes this sequel worth waiting for.

2. Congrats to director Prashant Verma, the actors and the whole team for a well-intentioned, well-executed film.

3. Has to be said - shame on Om Raut and Manoj Muntashir for Adipurush!

4. Watched this in original Telugu (with subtitles). Definitely down for a possible re-watch next weekend (this time maybe in Kannada or Hindi?)

5. HanuMan is going to be big - like Kantara big.

Sita Ramam: (Yudh se likhi Prem Kahaani) Summary: An epic love story movie with off the charts chemistry, beautiful music and songs, brilliant photography.   Using rope to square a circle What is squaring a circle? It is drawing a square equal to the area of a given circle. Area of a circle = Pi*r^2 where r is the radius of the circle Area of square = s^2 where s is the side of the square Therefore Pi*r^2=s^2 implies s= r*sqrt(Pi) But Pi is a transcadental number. Therefore its square root cannot be computed exactly This squaring of a circle using a compass and straight edge is considered impossible. Hence squaring a circle is used by many as a metaphor for doing the impossible. However it can be easily done via a rope as explained the Sulbasutras. The Sulbasutras are appendices to the Vedas which give rules for constructing altars.
